Hibiki Japanese Harmony – 43% abv

Info: Hibiki Japanese Harmony is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from 5 different types of cask, including American white oak casks, Sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. Presented in the brand’s trademark 24-faceted bottle representing the Japanese seasons. NAS.
Colour: Light to medium gold.
Nose: Light but jam packed with malt and grassy aromas, along with sweet fruits and caramels.
Palate: Medium oils cover your tongue with sweet malty goodness, very easy with just the smallest hint of spices to keep things interesting and with a drop of honey.
Finish: The finish is fairly long with peaty hints at the end giving it a slight tingle which helps the finish go on and on with the merest hint of oak tannins at the end.
Thoughts: A smooth and good quality blended dram which is very drinkable neat, would also take ice well, as well as being mixed in a cocktail. It’s elegant and fruity.
