Day 3 on Islay… Busy tours!
So… Day 3. The southerly distilleries. Some sun, some drams and some pictures (at least I took lots, none for here till I’m home to upload them! – Crappy O2)
Day 2 on Islay… Weather’s picked up a fair bit
Ok, so, I’ve already written notes for day 2 on Islay, but my buggering iPhone didn’t post it and then deleted it, grr. So shorter notes below as I try remember what I got up to…
Welcome to Islay… It’s pissing it down!
Right, day one of whisky holiday proper. My guilt starts here for the widow I’m making of Claire this week!
Oban & it’s distillery
So… Had a lovely 3 nights in Oban, I’ll spare you the details as this is a whisky blog… Other than, yep, I did get to visit the distillery there, even though the sign on the door said it wasn’t open on Sunday we found that thankfully it was.
Welcome to Scotland
Back on the road…
Well, overnight stop complete, feeling refreshed after stuffing my face on all you can eat brekky. An yes, it may be true that I stole lots of jams for me toast during the week. Unconfirmed!
So… Next stop Auchentoshan Distillery in Glasgow, only 3h 20min drive… What goodies shall I buy?? Only had two samples so far, so not sure if there’s anything particularly I should look for. I’m sure the people there will help me out on that one! π
Oo yes… Just wanted to …
Oo yes… Just wanted to say thanks to @the_w_club for the bottle of Jonnie Walker Blue Label that popped through my door yesterday! π
And we’re off… Scotland here we come!
And we’re off! 3h30min drive up to Wigan to over night in a Premiere Inn, so we should be there in good time to attend the bar. π
